Janet started her career in Magnox at Berkeley Centre as a graduate nuclear safety analyst before moving to consultancy through a transfer to Serco and has stayed with the business through its various transitions and transfers to Amec, Wood, Jacobs and now Amentum. She was formerly the Head of Profession for Technical Safety in the Amec Clean Energy Business and is now a subject matter expert in nuclear safety cases at Amentum, with over 25 years of experience in the industry.
Janet has significant experience in safety case production and management across the full lifecycle of nuclear facilities, advising duty holders in the UK and overseas on the nuclear safety of plant and operations and supporting the documented justification of this safety. She is also an independent member of a safety case committee and a safety working group.
Whilst Janet’s experience spans all stages of the nuclear lifecycle, she has a particular interest in waste management and decommissioning, including how to achieve hazard reduction promptly.
