Olivia Thompson is the Director of Strategic Capability at NIRO and a senior advisor to the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero.
Liv supports the Nuclear Directorate to understand the skills, infrastructure and policy requirements needed within the UK to deliver the Government’s nuclear aspirations. She also provides strategic advice and guidance on future nuclear programme delivery. Further to this Liv has held the role of coordinating the Nuclear Innovation and Research Advisory Board.
She helped found Women in Nuclear, serving on the first Executive Board. She is a strategic advisor and advocate of Racial Equality in Nuclear and is a Trustee of the Primary Science Teaching Trust.
Liv is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Professional Development (CIPD) and the Nuclear Institute as well as being a Chartered Scientist.
