Mike Waite is a senior advisor to the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero.
Mike provides DESNZ key support on the AMR Demo Reactors & Fuel Programmes as well as Giga Watt. Mike has over 25 years of experience within the nuclear sector, which developed a strong focus on international nuclear new build programmes. Previously Mike has led his own nuclear consultancy, providing market intelligence, stakeholder introductions and support to clients in new nuclear markets. Mike’s other feats include his role in New Plant Market Development with Westinghouse, where he played a first-on-the-ground role in emerging nuclear newbuild markets in South-East Asia, the Middle East, Africa and Europe. Despite Mike’s international focus, he is also very passionate about nuclear newbuild at Wylfa Newydd on Anglesey.
