Greg Evans is a senior advisor to the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero.
Greg’s support to DESNZ centres around the Future Nuclear Enabling Fund, future Giga Watt and siting options around Wylfa nuclear power station. Greg’s expertise stems from his role in the US Navy where he qualified as a submarine Reactor Operator, which lead to several senior roles in Operations Management on commercial power stations in both the US and UK. Some of Greg’s most prominent work in the UK include his role of Station Director at Trawsfynydd Decommissioning Site and Wylfa Nuclear Power Station. There Greg set up and managed the Joint Venture between Centrica and EdF on both existing and Nuclear New Build (NNB) nuclear as well as being Centrica Energy’s Renewables Director. Most recently, Greg was the Executive Operations Director of Horizon Nuclear Power through to project cessation.
