Gary is a Senior Technical Advisor to the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero.
Before NIRO Gary was involved in the management and delivery of large, complex Research, Development & Innovation projects, such as Phase A of the AMR RD&D project. Gary has also been seconded at several other organisations; at the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (NDA), Gary developed the NDA University Engagement Strategy. Whilst at Rolls Royce he led the UKSMR project as Research and Technology Manager.
After completing a PhD on the application of electrical tomographic imaging techniques to understand the performance of solvent extraction processes Gary started his career with a University technology spin out company and retains an interest in technology commercialisation.
Gary is a Chartered Engineer and Fellow of the Institution of Chemical Engineers.
