At Spending Review 2015, government committed to invest in an ambitious nuclear research and development programme named the ‘Nuclear Innovation Programme’ forming part of the wider Energy Innovation Programme. The Nuclear Innovation Programme ran from 2016 to 2022, supporting innovation to deliver cost effective solutions contributing to a decarbonised energy supply, economic growth, and jobs in the UK energy sector and its supply chain.
