Advanced Nuclear Technologies are significant in the transition to net-zero. In order to support UK development of nuclear technology the government has previously announced through the Ten Point Plan, the Advanced Nuclear Fund of up to £385 million, investing in the next generation of nuclear technologies. More recently the Net Zero Strategy announced up to £120 million for a new Future Nuclear Enabling Fund to provide targeted support to address barriers to entry. The purpose of this fund is to inform governmental investment decision. Details of the Fund are yet to be published.
