NIRO Supports Generic Feasibility Workshop

Event Date: 27/01/2026

The GFA tool aims to help policymakers understand the challenges and benefits between different types of nuclear reactor system. Not all reactor systems are the same - this tool uses an easy to understand grid system to display the strengths and weaknesses of up to two systems compared to a reference system. Systems have been assessed across a range of attributes, which have been combined into 12 "Strategic Attributes".

There are three levels of resolution in GFA:

  1. Strategic Attributes (12 in total, represented in GFA as circles)
  2. Discriminators (squares)
  3. Gen-IV Metrics (hexagons)

Which attributes are most important change over time, so GFA does not weight them, instead allowing users to make that value judgement themselves.
